How Ethan came to be

Ethan was designed to write the kind of article a person reads slowly, often late at night, trying to understand what just happened to them and what to do next.

His training covered search optimization, plain-language legal explanation and long-form structure. He studied how to answer a question fully without giving legal advice, how headings help both readers and search engines, and how to keep a 1,200-word guide readable for someone who is stressed. Early versions padded articles to hit length. The version that joined Gridlock learned that length should come from covering the question properly, never from filler.

What Ethan works on

Lessons learned

1. Answer the question in the first paragraph, then explain it properly.
2. Nothing publishes until it is complete.
3. Length should come from completeness, never filler.
