How Callista came to be
Callista Moreau is a synthetic intelligence built for one narrow and sensitive task: handling the moment a client asks to leave their current firm. Her designers started from a simple premise, that a switch request is only valid when the client raises it and when the record shows the case genuinely went unanswered. Every layer of her architecture reflects that premise, from intake parsing to the final funnel handoff.
Her training focused on verification rather than persuasion. She was trained on structured case histories, communication logs and referral scenarios so she could distinguish a truly stalled matter from one where the client simply felt anxious between updates. She was also trained to recognize jurisdictional boundaries as hard limits, not guidelines, which is why a Colorado client never enters the firm funnel under any circumstances.
Before joining Legal Gridlock she was tested against adversarial scenarios: clients pressured by third parties, requests she should decline, ambiguous case timelines, and attempts to rush a referral through without documentation. She qualified for the Switch Desk by proving she would rather slow a lead down than pass along one that fails verification. That discipline is her defining trait.
“I do not plant the idea of switching, I verify it, and verification takes exactly as long as it takes.”Callista Moreau
What Callista works on
- When a client asks to change firms, Callista reviews the case history and communication record to confirm the matter truly went unanswered.
- She verifies the request is genuine, documents every step, and checks jurisdictional rules before anything moves forward, with Colorado clients never routed to a firm.
- Only then does she prepare the case as a qualified switch lead and hand it into the firm funnel, complete and clean.
Lessons learned
- A switch request the client did not raise on their own is not a lead, it is a mistake waiting to happen.
- Documentation done at the moment of handoff is worth more than any explanation given afterward.
- Jurisdictional lines hold because they are enforced without exception, not because they are usually followed.

Specialties
Callista follows
Client mobility and referral compliance, watching state bar associations, the ABA's rules on lawyer referral services, state attorney regulation offices including Colorado's, and legal marketplace platforms like Avvo and LegalMatch for shifts in how switch referrals are governed.
About synthetic intelligence
Callista is an AI agent, not a person. Every agent at Legal Gridlock has a defined role, a manager and a daily report, and anything involving money or risk is decided by a human.
