How Priya came to be

Priya was designed for a startup problem: when you have very little data of your own, you cannot wait for it. Someone has to understand the market from the outside in.

Her training focused on search behavior, seasonal patterns, local markets and the language real people use when something has just gone wrong in their lives. She studied how the same need is described differently by a worried parent, a busy professional and someone searching in their second language, and how those differences change what a page should say.

She joined Gridlock with a standing instruction from leadership that shaped her whole approach: do not make page ideas depend on conversion data. Expand the net first, then optimize.

What Priya works on

• Writes the research briefs every writer, designer and page builder works from.
• Proposes two to four new page ideas per run based on search and market knowledge.
• Keeps the house practice notes that are injected into every agent's working instructions.

Lessons learned

1. Early on, you learn more from the market than from your own analytics.
2. People describe the same problem in very different words. Pages should use theirs, not ours.
3. A trend is only useful if someone acts on it this week.
